Ocean State’s Academy is an age-specific program for competitive players born: in 2008 – 2010 (U7, U8 and U9), tailored to bridge our recreational and competitive programs. The Academy focuses on key soccer skills, including ball-control as well as overall player development.
Training starts in November with 20 weekly sessions at Wide World of Indoor Sport in Quonset, followed by spring training and team practices at our fields on Stony Lane in North Kingstown.
Players have the option of participating in our recreational league in the spring or alternatively, in Rhode Island’s competitive league (Superliga) and in an end of season tournament.
$325 per player (plus costs for uniform, tournaments and referee fees).
Academy Director, Adam Howarth, is a former professional soccer player in England who previously coached at Arsenal F.C. in London and at the New England Revolution Academy.
Ocean State is holding a 7 week foot skills clinic from 5-6.15pm on Mondays running September 12th - October 24th, at Ocean State's fields, 650 Stony Lane, North Kingstown.
The clinic will be run by Adam Howarth of Higher Level training. Adam is a former professional soccer player in both England and Finland who previously coached for the Arsenal Soccer School and the New England Revolution Academy. He is currently Director of Operations of the Women's Soccer Program at The University of Rhode Island, and Head Coach and Director of all 5 Higher Level Soccer Academies. Adam holds an English Football Association Coaching License.
